The Coalition for Equality Submitted the Report of the Third Cycle of the UN Universal Periodic Review (UPR)


The Coalition for Equality has submitted the report of the third cycle of the UN Universal Periodic Review (UPR). Report evaluates the implementation of the recommendations published after the second cycle review of Georgia during 2015-2020.

The report covers following issues:

  • Family environment and alternative care for children, juvenile justice;
  • Implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and harmonization of national legislation with it;
  • Sexual violence against women;
  • The stigma against LGBT + people and violation of their rights;
  • Problems with the ownership of non-dominant religious associations;
  • Lack of involvement of ethnic minorities in political, social and cultural life;
  • Racism, racial discrimination, anti-migrant populism, and barriers to obtaining asylum and residence permits for foreigners.
