Queer people have always had an important role in developing underground culture.
2013, 17th May- tens of Queer activists, making the international day against Homophobia is attacked by the church and thousands of citizens.

DANCE OR DIE is a short film which tells the story of how music and dance was always an essential part of Georgia’s cultural and social life. Prehistoric artIfacts are showing how ancient Georgians danced for unity, oldest Georgian polyphonic songs are the manifestations of equality, and respect to each other, every single voice in the choir was important, creating harmony from chaos. Dancing was always an immersive part of our life, people were going into the wars side-by-side and singing together. Starting from there, DANCE OR DIE then follows the story of Georgia, Soviet-era, independence, 90’s and wars, then it comes to a point where the club culture and electronic music, which of course is very ritualistic, pushed new force to develop dance floor as a collective, social body, which influences political changes. Representing BASSIANI and Tbilisi, Dance, or Die movie was featured at Dance of Urgency exhibition curated by Bogomir Doringer which took place at Q21, Museums Quartier, Vienna. The exhibition explored the social and political importance of dancing worldwide, crossing and vanishing the borders from Detroit to Berlin, from Lisbon to Kyiv, from Haifa to Tbilisi and moreover.
