Supporting same-sex civil partnerships in Georgia, Tina Agnus

“Tina Agnus, I’m a citizen, who tries to protect human rights, mine and other as well. Ever since I was a kid, I’ve had people around me, friends, relatives who had various problems and are often being oppressed. Why does his happened?! Because that person was born that way.

It’s very unacceptable in our country when a person is different in terms of gender, is gay, lesbian or trans and so on. I believe that nobody has a right to suppress those people for it. I would always defend my friends when they were made fun and despised.

thee was a person I knew years ago, in the 70s and 80s, who told me that she was a woman.  but she was not a physically a woman. It you want the society to accept you as you are, first you need to be accepted by your parents, your family members, friend. Nobody knew about her at home. Only few friends knew. She had a strict father, mother was sensing something and she would always tell her that the father would kill her. So I told that person for the first time that she needed to leave that country. She escaped before someone killed her, she left that country. It’s terrible to run  away but I think that people aren’t born to suffer because of love, they are born for love, not for agony.

oppression, violence, killing aren’t allowed, you can’t forbid something if it doesn’t go against the law.

For example, I have a gay friend, who is constantly looking for a job. wherever they go, at first they’re asked to leave contact info but at the end they are always rejected. You can’t prove it, but they don’t hire you, we all know that people don’t love hiring them, especially trans people.

People need to wake up. When an injustice happens next to you, before your eyes, with your relative, don’t be afraid, speak up. This should be in you, this either there or isn’t. Some people never speak up, it’s probably my nature. T protests against injustice.

I think that when two people love each other, they should have a right to live together, no matter who they are. People choose on their own, to love, not to love, to marry, not to marry. Violating this right is ignoring human rights. I think sooner or later this should end. The sooner the better.

The government should listen to citizens. We elect them pay them salaries no so they pass the laws that harms us, but to make us to feel free, better, more secure. That is my opinion. The way I see it, it’s like when a black fabric covers everything while you are shooting something and then you punch holes in it and the beams of light appear and illuminate everything. It should happen like this because like Vazha-Pshavela said, “Thick fog covers our country”. It’s like this now, it was the same before. A person is always disregarded but I say cheers to the human. Human should be winner, not the tradition. Traditions are made up by the humans”, – Tuna Agnus.
